EastRise

Challenge

New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) and Vermont State Employees Credit Union (VSECU, a former PixelSpoke client) joined forces to become one entity rebranded as EastRise. The newly-formed credit union reflects the strengths of their legacies that stretch back over 75 years. A full rebrand was executed that leans into the local flare while sustaining their reputation in the community. The Pixelspoke team was tasked with bringing the new brand to life in a user-friendly, mobile-optimized, accessible, and secure website experience.

Approach

I partnered with the PixelSpoke team to establish the digital expression of EastRise's new brand identity. Leading UI strategy and art direction, I translated their "personal, powerful, and proud Vermont" brand positioning into an accessible, mobile-optimized banking experience serving 100K+ members. Working closely with the strategist, I developed wireframes, component libraries, and page templates that balanced EastRise's colorful brand elements with functional banking UX. I also provided QA guidance during development to ensure the final experience maintained design integrity.

Outcomes

Both the Pixelspoke and EastRise teams are very happy with the online experience we have achieved. The client had a lot of fun elements to work with, and our team leveraged their foundational elements in a way that doesn’t distract from their innovative financial services but rather adds value and humanizes the banking experience. The redesigned site successfully launched the merged credit union's new identity to over 100,000 members across Vermont and New Hampshire.
